The geography of Tuva Republic

 

Republic located in the heart of Asia, between Siberia (Altai territory to the west and north of Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk Region in the north-east, Buryat Republic in the east) and Mongolia (south Region depression Mongolian Great Lakes): The capital of Tuva (or Tuva), Kyzyl, is deemed to represent the geometric center of the Asian continent.

 

Surounded by high mountain ranges (north, the mountains that form Saïan border to the west, the mountains Salsal; south, chains Tannou-ola and Sangilen culminating in 3 274 m), its territory ( 170 500 km2) is occupied by mountain blocks that cut the two depressions longitudinal arm of the Yenisei high: the north, that of Todza (Todzinskaja kotlovina), south of the Tuva (Tuvinskaja kotlovina).
